Sweetwater - “Compared To What” (Reprise) - I’ve had this cover of the Gene McDaniels classic for 20 years or more. I’ve been going through my whole record collection these days, so a lot of recent posts have been albums I’ve had forever. This LP is pretty easy to find, so I was surprised to see that it doesn’t seem to be on Youtube. Anyway, there are loads of versions of this tune, love this funky take.

The Fourth Way - “Everyman’s Your Brother” (Capital) - Let’s end the week with a long time favorite. I usually stay away from the violin in my funk, soul and jazz, but it works so beautifully in this song. Break at the top too.
