The Sensational Cymbals - “When Will It End” (Jay-Walking) - Gospel funk with a strong message.
The V.I.P.’s - “Traffic Ticket” (City Special) - Organ driven funk from Africa.
Mike Lachney with Danny James & His James Boys - “You’re Mine (I Love You)” [ANLA] - I don’t know, country funk? Breaks for the drum lovers!
Thee Midniters - “Chicano Power” (La Raza) - I’m sending this one out to all my vatos in East L.A. It puts me in a good mood every time I play it.
Betty Everett - “Sweet Dan” (Fantasy) - Nice funky soul cut from Betty.
Lee Fields - “You Been Cutting Out On Me” (Norfolk Sound) - This guy is still putting out great records! This one is from 1974.
United 8 - “Getting Uptown (To Get Down)” [Atlantic] - Funky flip to this 45, here was the other side I posted previously:

Hierro - “El Planeta De Los Simios” (RCA) - Nice cover of Lalo Schifrin’s “Ape Shuffle” from The Planet Of The Apes TV series. Second 45 from El Salvador posted this week!
Lancaster Kiwanis Steel Band - “Sissy Strut” (LKSB) - Canadien high school steel band covers The Meters…I love the 70s.
Mc Gill Clan - “Soy Un Hombre” (Orfeo) - Great organ driven instrumental cover of “I’m A Man”. 2nd cover of this song I have posted, here’s the first:

Hank Ballard - “I’m A Junkie For My Baby’s Love” (Chess) - “If you just got to be strung out on something sisters, be a junkie for your man’s love”
Conjunto San Miguel - “Malenka” (Dicesa) - Funk/psych/rock from, I think, El Salvador!
Gaston - “Clap Song” (Hotlanta) - For me, an amazing jam, especially since it was released in 1978. I’m no expert on the evolution of disco/dance/techno/electro/house music, but this track seems so ahead of it’s time. The actual song is nearly 10 minutes long but unfortunately due to tumblr’s 10mb upload limit, I needed to (badly) edit it down to around 6 minutes. I think you can still get the idea.
Jay Mitchell - “Do Your Thing” (Freeport) - Island psych funk cover of the classic song.
Lorenzo Holden - “The Wig” (Cee-Jam) - Stormin’ funky R&B joint, what a fun 45.
